Music Industry College is an accredited independent non-state school and is a member of Independent Schools Queensland. Music Industry College is governed by an eight-member board and is a totally independent school.

Music Industry College was established in 2010.

Music Industry College offers a range of Queensland Studies Authority subjects. Our current subjects are: Music; Music Extension (Yr 12); English;, Mathematics A; Business Management; Film, Television and New Media; Visual Art and Drama. All of our subjects are contextualised to the music industry.

Although we have contextualised the curriculum to the music industry the knowledge and skills that students gain at MIC are transferrable to a wide range of career and further study options. The following is a list of vocations and study that our graduates have entered post MIC: Law; Music Performance; Education; Mechanics; Audio Engineering; Sound Design; Small Business ownership; Journalism; Film and Television Production; Marketing; Event Management; Natural Medicine; Acting.

Fees for 2015 are $1375/term. Fees are reviewed annually each November for the following school year. Fees cover all costs of tuition, the only extra costs that may be incurred are for excursions, camps and specialist area activities. All text books and use of school laptops are included however students are required to provide their own consumable items such as pens, notebooks, USB drives etc. Those students studying Film & TV must also bring their own SD card for camera use. MIC also has a School Building Fund. The suggested donation for this fund for 2015 is $300. 

Music Industry College is a non-uniform school. Our dress code states that students must wear fully enclosed footwear and refrain from wearing offensive images on clothing and/or clothing that does not cover their bodies appropriately.

Music Industry College operates from 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.  

We do not require students to remain on campus during breaks or when they have a spare lesson. Music Industry College is a high trust environment and our expectation is that students will do the right thing with this freedom.

There is no audition process for Music Industry College. Approximately 30% of our students are non-musicians who are seeking a career in the backend of the industry. Students are accepted into Music Industry College based on their passion for music and their desire to pursue a career in the industry.

Music Industry College caters for Year 11 and 12 students only. Our current campus in Fortitude Valley is limited to 80 students.

Our students come from a wide geographic area. We have students travel from the Gold and Sunshine Coast, west of Ipswich and as far as Moreton Bay in the east. Students come from a range of private and state schools.
